Esta é a definição que propus em vários congressos internacionais e que, afortunadamente, tornou-se uma das mais aceitas por todos os tipos de Yôga, os quais consideraram-na a única que abarca as propostas de todos. Samádhi é o estado de hiperconsciência que só pode ser desenvolvido pelo Yôga. Samádhi está muito além da meditação. Para conquistar esse nível de megalucidez, é necessário operar uma série de metamorfoses na estrutura biológica do praticante. Isso requer tempo e saúde. Então, o próprio Yôga, em suas etapas preliminares, providencia um acréscimo de saúde para que o indivíduo suporte o empuxo evolutivo que ocorrerá durante a jornada; e provê também o tempo necessário, ampliando a expectativa de vida, a fim de que o yôgin consiga, em vida, atingir sua meta. Os efeitos sobre os órgãos internos, sistema nervoso e endócrino, flexibilidade, fortalecimento, aumento de vitalidade e administração do stress fazem-se sentir muito rapidamente. Mas para despertar a energia chamada kundaliní, desenvolver as paranormalidades e atingir o samádhi, precisa-se do investimento de muitos anos com dedicação intensiva.Por isso, a maioria dos praticantes não se interessa pela meta da coisa em si (kundaliní e samádhi). Em vez disso, satisfaz-se com os fortes e rápidos efeitos sobre o organismo e a saúde.O Yôga ensina, por exemplo, como respirar melhor, como relaxar, como concentrar-se, como trabalhar músculos, articulações, nervos, glândulas endócrinas, órgãos internos, etc. através de técnicas corporais belíssimas, fortes, porém que respeitam o ritmo biológico do praticante. Ashtánga sádhana significa prática em oito partes (ashta = oito; anga = parte; sádhana = prática). Utilizamos diversos níveis desse programa óctuplo. O primeiro nível, para aqueles que já foram autorizados a ingressar no Yôga Antigo, é o ády ashtánga sádhana (ádi/ády = primeiro, fundamental), o qual é constituído pelas oito partes seguintes, nesta ordem:&lt;br /&gt;1) mudrá&lt;br /&gt;gesto reflexológico feito com as mãos;&lt;br /&gt;2) pújá&lt;br /&gt;sintonização com o arquétipo; retribuição de energia;&lt;br /&gt;3) mantra&lt;br /&gt;vocalização de sons e ultra-sons;&lt;br /&gt;4) pránáyáma&lt;br /&gt;expansão da bioenergia através de respiratórios;&lt;br /&gt;5) kriyá&lt;br /&gt;atividade de purificação das mucosas;&lt;br /&gt;6) ásana&lt;br /&gt;técnica corporal;&lt;br /&gt;7) yôganidrá&lt;br /&gt;técnica de descontração;&lt;br /&gt;8) samyama&lt;br /&gt;concentração, meditação e hiperconsciência.&lt;br /&gt;Mudrá&lt;br /&gt;É o gesto ou selo que, reflexologicamente, ajuda o praticante a conseguir um estado de receptividade superlativa. Mesmo os que não são sensitivos podem entrar em estados alfa e theta já nesta introdução.&lt;br /&gt;Pújá (manasika pújá)&lt;br /&gt;É a técnica que estabelece uma perfeita sintonia do sádhaka com o arquétipo desta linhagem. Com isso, seleciona um comprimento de onda adequado a esta modalidade de Yôga, conecta seu plug no compartimento certo do inconsciente coletivo e liga a corrente, estabelecendo uma perfeita troca de energias entre o discípulo e o Mestre.&lt;br /&gt;Mantra (vaikharí mantra: kirtan e japa)&lt;br /&gt;A vibração dos ultra-sons que acompanham o "vácuo" das vocalizações, neste caso do ády ashtánga sádhana, tem a finalidade de desesclerosar os canais para que o prána possa circular. Prána é o nome genérico da bioenergia. Somente depois dessa limpeza é que se pode fazer pránáyáma. O SwáSthya Yôga utiliza centenas de mantras: kirtan e japa; vaikharí e manasika; saguna e nirguna mantras.&lt;br /&gt;Pránáyáma (swara pránáyáma)&lt;br /&gt;São respiratórios que bombeiam o prána para que circule pelas nádís e vitalize todo o organismo. E também a fim de distribuí-lo entre os milhares de chakras que temos espalhados por todo o corpo. Bombear aquela energia por dutos obstruídos pelos detritos decorrentes de maus hábitos alimentares, secreções internas mal eliminadas e emoções intoxicantes, pode resultar inócuo ou até prejudicial. Por isso, antes do pránáyáma, procedemos à prévia limpeza dos canais, na área energética. No SwáSthya, utilizamos 58 respiratórios diferentes.&lt;br /&gt;Kriyá&lt;br /&gt;São atividades de purificação das mucosas, que têm a finalidade de auxiliar a limpeza do organismo, agora no âmbito orgânico. Em se tratando de Yôga, só se deve proceder às técnicas corporais após o cuidado de limpar o corpo por meio dos kriyás. O Método DeRose possui catalogados 27 kriyás.&lt;br /&gt;Ásana&lt;br /&gt;Esta é a parte mais conhecida e característica do Yôga para o público leigo. Não é ginástica e não tem nada a ver com Educação Física. São técnicas corporais que produzem efeitos extraordinários para o corpo em termos de flexibilidade, musculatura, equilíbrio de peso e saúde em geral. Para aproveitar ao máximo seu potencial, os ásanas devem ser precedidos pelos kriyás, pránáyámas etc. Aplicamos milhares de ásanas, dos quais, cerca de 2000 constam desta obra. Os efeitos dos ásanas começam a se manifestar a partir do yôganidrá.&lt;br /&gt;Yôganidrá&lt;br /&gt;É a descontração que auxilia o yôgin na assimilação e manifestação dos efeitos produzidos por todos os angas. A eles, soma os próprios efeitos de uma boa recuperação muscular e nervosa. O yôganidrá aplica não apenas a melhor posição para relaxar, mas também a melhor inclinação em relação à gravidade, o melhor tipo de som, de iluminação, de cor, de respiração, de perfume, de indução verbal etc.&lt;br /&gt;Samyama&lt;br /&gt;Essa técnica compreende concentração, meditação e samádhi "ao mesmo tempo", isto é, praticados juntos, em seqüência, numa só sentada (etimologicamente, samyama pode significar ir junto). Se o praticante vai fazer apenas concentração, chegar à meditação ou atingir o samádhi, isso dependerá exclusivamente do seu adiantamento pessoal. Assim, também é correto denominar o oitavo anga de dhyána, que significa meditação. É uma forma menos pretensiosa.&lt;br /&gt;Portanto, mesmo uma prática de SwáSthya Yôga para iniciantes, como este conjunto de oito feixes de técnicas que acabamos de analisar, será bem avançada em comparação com qualquer outro tipo de Yôga, já se prevendo a possibilidade de atingir um sabíja samádhi.&lt;br /&gt;Existem vários tipos de ashtánga sádhana. A estrutura acima é a primeira que o praticante aprende. Denomina-se ádi (seguido de palavra iniciada por vogal o i se transforma em y, ády). O segundo tipo é o viparíta ashtánga sádhana.
